The pot can't talk about the kettle
by Nathan'ette Burdine: December 24, 2015

The old saying, “the pot can’t talk about the kettle,” is true in the case of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush who loves talking about how he will uphold the Constitution and respect the rights of all Americans.

The pot, Jeb Bush, blasted Trump, the kettle, after Trump suggested that the rights of an individual could be taken away if the individual is a member of a group that is threatening or has done harm towards the U.S. and or its allies.

After the terrorists’ attacks in Paris, France, and San Bernardino, California, Trump said that he would ban all Muslims, including Americans, from entering into the country.

During the Republican Presidential debate last Tuesday, Bush said that Trump’s plan didn’t make any sense because it would “unfairly” target Americans who are also Muslims.

Yet, like Trump, Bush also suggested that Muslims should be banned from entering into the country.

After the terrorists’ attacks in Paris, France, Bush told reporters that he would only allow Christians into the United States.

Bush is quoted as saying, “We should focus our efforts as it relates to the refugees for the Christians that are being slaughtered.”

This comment, however, has slipped Bush’s mind. He has forgotten how he, like Trump, said that Muslims should not be allowed into the country and that he, Bush, made his comments before Trump made his comments.

Hence, Bush set the tone for his fellow Republican Donald Trump to begin expressing the same anti-Muslim feelings that he expressed.
